Yolanda Yvonne Nelson

Yolanda Yvonne Nelson was born in Nashville, TN on March 18, 1957 to Mrs. Mitchell Nelson. “Land” as she is playfully known enjoyed cooking, cleaning and being around her family. Her children and grandchildren were the highlight of her life and talking trash to them all was the thing she loved to do most, of course all in fun and love.

Yolanda was called to Christ at an early age and enjoyed her Christian experience at Jefferson Street Baptist church here in Nashville, TN. She was educated in the Davidson County school system and worked in hospitality in multiple hotel and motels around the Nashville area.

Yolanda departed this life peacefully with family and friends surrounding her bedside on March 17, 2022 at Vanderbilt Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memories Mother, Mitchel Nelson; brother James Nelson (Sheryll) and sister Connie Stevenson (Melvin). Three wonderful children; son Michael Nelson (Jessica), Demetrica Nelson, and William Nelson (Shalin). Eight grandchildren Ronald Nelson, DaRonta Nelson, Tauresha Turrentine, Nailco Nelson, Demarion Teasley, William Nelson Jr., Michael Nelson Jr., and Kamaya Davis. Five great grandchildren Keyonna Nelson, DaRonta Nelson Jr., A’riyah Nelson, Isla Ezell, Kaycen Ezell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
