Winell Adams

July 27, 1952 — April 28, 2022

Winell “Wendy” Hayes Adams was the third child born to the late Izola Hayes and L.C. Greer on July 27,1952 in Jackson, Tennessee. She is preceded by mother and father, brother, Athel Hayes, sister, Brenda Bivens.

 

She attended the Madison County Schools, Jackson, Tennessee. After moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 1980 she attended and graduated from Medical Career College as a Medical Assistant and DayMar Institute years later as a Medical Assistant Administrative.

 

She accepted Christ and baptized at age 12 at Christ Temple Church of Jackson, Tennessee under the leadership of Rev. Rick. She renewed her faith at Fairfield Missionary Baptist Church in 2001 under the leadership of Pastor Howard Jones, Jr.

 

She was employed and retired from The State of Tennessee, Clover Bottom Developmental Center after 23+ years and continued to work with various people and healthcare agencies because of her passion of caring for others.

 

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters and two sons, Roderick Hayes of Hopkinsville, Ky., Chondrika Hayes, Clista Adams and Derrick(Michelle) Adams of Nashville, nine grandchildren, Lorenzo, Kendrick (Savannah), Antonio, Kayla, Taizha, Keshandria, Daija and Melachi of Nashville, Christopher (Amanda) of Chattanooga, four great grandchildren, Trinity, Aimiyah, Ahzulo, and Alijah Wynn, six nieces Aileen  Bender, Monica Pope, Nikita Carter of Nashville, Africa Manning of Illinois, Michelle(Dewayne) Hayslett, Shun(Antonio) Wallace, all of Memphis, two nephews, Athel Avant of Jacksonville, Florida and Corey Bogen of  Nashville, twelve great nieces and nephews and friends.

Vieiwng Friday, May 6, 2022, 1-6 at funeral home. Visitation Saturday, May 7, 2022, 12-1pm with funeral to follow at Fairfield Baptist Curch 1004 Dickerson Rd. Goodlettsville, Tn. Burial in Greenwood North.
