Wanda Jean Hodge

March 12, 1953 — December 29, 2024

Wanda Jean Hodge, "Castleberry Maybell Sue", was born March 12, 1953 in Nashville, TN to Ella Jean Hodge and Samuel Wilson. She transitioned this earthly life on December 29, 2024 at home with family surrounding her.

Our Momma lived in Nashville for all of her life. She loved to take trips, and her vision was to travel and see it all. She traveled with family, friends including with her church choir and singing groups.

As a Believer, Wanda was a member of Born Again Church for 25+ years, and served faithfully in the music (choir) and hospitality ministries. She later attended and served at Spirit and Truth Believers Fellowship Church. Some of her favorite peace and praise scriptures were from the book of Psalms, with these poems of joy and celebration that focused on what's good in the world.

Our Momma graduated from Cameron High School, where she played drums in the band. She believed in always working, and providing for her family through self-employment, also working multiple jobs at the same time. She became a cosmetologist. "I (Schuronda) was her first client, if you let me tell the story, but don't tell nobody, my aunts were before me." She later had a new client, six years later, Khuck Hodge.

Our Momma believed in helping and supporting others. She never met a stranger, as she was always willing and giving to anyone she could assist in becoming better. If you needed anything, she would always do her best to help. She loved you!

Our Momma has joined her momma, Ella Jean Hodge; father, Samuel Wilson; sisters, Teresa Foxx, Kathleen Hodge; brothers, Jimmy Hodge, Charles Hodge; and son-in-love, William Barry Scott in their heavenly home.
