Verdell Freeman Coston, 94, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Born to Corene Freeman and Osse Webb on April 5, 1930, Verdell lived a full and vibrant life. A native of Chattanooga, TN, she relocated to Nashville, TN, where she worked for many years in dry cleaning and as a caregiver to the elderly.
She was a lifetime member of the International Masons and Order of the Eastern Star. Verdell is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Coston; grandson, Gregory Springer; sister, Louvonia Taylor; and brother, Joe Hadley.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Gregory (Teresa) Freeman Sr., Jamestown, TN; sister, Armalee Petty, Chattanooga, TN; brother, William Gilmore, Chattanooga, TN; two granddaughters, Shontel and Verdell Freeman, Oklahoma City, OK; five grandsons, Gregory Freeman Jr., Miami, FL, Aaron Freeman, Bowling Green, KY, Montel Freeman, Oklahoma City, OK, Gregory and Gary Freeman, Atlanta, GA; ten great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
