Theodora Marie Morrison-Jones

Theodora Marie (Morrison) Jones passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025. A loving mother, daughter, sister, wife, and friend, Theodora leaves behind her beloved husband, Dewayne Leroy Jones and her loving daughter, Naomi Anna Marie Jones. Theodora is also survived by her siblings Theodore G. W. Morrison, Jr. (Erin), Andre Dean (Cathy), Andrea Dean Johnson (Billy), Theowauna Hatchett, and Stephanie Hatchett, as well as a host of nieces, grandnieces, nephews, and grandnephews. Theodora was preceded in death by her parents Theodore G. W. Morrison, Sr. and Naomi (Winters) Morrison. 

Born and raised in Nashville, TN, Theodora graduated from Hume-Fogg High School where she excelled as a student and as editor of the school newspaper. She also participated in the school’s co-op program which allowed her to work part-time at Cain-Sloan Department Store, where she continued to work while also attending Tennessee State University. 

Theodora touched many lives as she charted her journey through her varied and storied careers, including as a model, as office manager at the Waverly Belmont Clinic, as a manager of a Sally Beauty Supply franchise, as manager of Colonial Market, and as one of the most successful salespersons of Jeep vehicles at Southeast Automotive.

Theodora loved all people, especially children. As a teenager, she saved up enough money to sponsor numerous children from several third world countries. Throughout her lifetime, Theodora displayed an enormous love for animals. You could often find her adopting or being adopted by a stray cat.

Theodora’s loved ones will be hosting a visitation from 3pm – 6pm on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Terrell Broady Funeral Home, 3855 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, TN 37218. A Memorial service will be held at 1pm on February 1, 2025 at Lawrence Avenue Church of Christ, 904 Lawrence Avenue, Nashville, TN 37204. 

The family of Theodora Jones wishes to express our immense gratitude to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and to the staff of Alive Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Theodora Jones to Alive Hospice or the Vanderbilt Alzheimer’s and Memory Center.
