Thedora Armstrong

April 30, 1940 — November 18, 2024

Mrs. Thedora Rogers Armstrong was born April 30, 1940, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee to the union of Elder Ernest and Sarah Lyles Rogers. her sweet and productive life came to an end on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Tristar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

 Thedora was educated at Mt. Pleasant and was a graduate of Clark High School. She attended Riverside Hospital Program where she received her Licensed Practical Nurse Certification and later continued her education at Tennessee State University where she received a Nurses Degree to become a Registered Nurse.

She accepted Christ in her life at an early age and was united with Ray of Hope Community Church faithfully as an usher until her health failed. She later moved her membership to be with her family at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Thedora began her nursing career at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN as a Charge Nurse in the recovery Room, she later advanced to charge nurse in surgery and was elevated to Assistant Director of Materials Management. She retired from St. Thomas Hospital after 30 plus years.

 Thedora married her high school sweetheart Earlest Armstrong, Sr. on October 4, 1958. This love lasted a lifetime with 66 years of marriage.

 In her spare time, she enjoyed attending TSU football games, she was a season ticket holder. She loved camping with her group “Music City Camping Nuts”. She had a true servant’s heart she loved helping and serving others.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Marilyn, Ernest Jr., James, Frances, James L. and granddaughter, Angel.

 Those left to cherish her memories are her loving and very devoted husband, Earlest Armstrong, Sr., daughters, Minister Trina Walker, Marilyn (Pastor Dwight) Church, son, Earlest (Felicia) Armstrong, Jr., brother-in-law, Joe Armstrong, her pride and joy grandchildren, John Parker, Jr., David (Jamie) Church, Kena Helms, Christopher (LaShara) Church, Earlest, III (Shatika) Armstrong, Theodore Armstrong and 16 great-grandchildren, devoted nieces, Mary Green and Helen Sharp, a host of family and friends with special mention to her YMCA Senior exercise friends.
