Stephen Jerome Talley

Stephen Jerome Talley was born August 29, 1970, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late James W.E. Talley, Sr. and Wilma Jean (Edmondson) Talley.  He departed this life on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

He received Christ at an early age at John Wesley United Methodist Church. Later in life, he became an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church,

Stephen received his formal education in the Davidson County school system. He graduated from Whites Creek High School in 1989, where he was a bass drummer in the band.  After graduating, he received an associate degree from Nashville State Community College. 

Stephen met the love of his life Sharon Yvette (Jones) while serving as an usher at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where they wed on September 15, 2012.

Stephen carried on the passion of his father by being a dedicated truck driver for the Old Dominion Freight Line.

Stephen loved spending time with his family, serving in the Usher Ministry, as well as the Parking Ministry. As an avid football fan, he was a true Tennessee State University “Big Blue’’ and Tennessee Titans fan. Stephen enjoyed traveling with his adoring wife Sharon. He was also passionate about fitness.

Stephen leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Sharon Yvette Talley; sister Lauretta Talley-Thomas; brother James W.E. Talley, Jr.; Loving father-in-law and mother-in-law Raymond Jones, Jr. and Jimmie Laverne Jones; two sisters-in-law Kesha Jones, Crystal (Gemtraius) Bell, LaShonda Talley; aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, extended family, and friends.
