Sharia Shinette' Mims-Newsom

Sharia Shinette’ Mims Newsom was born June 25, 1974 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Debra Mims and Late Thomas Spight. She departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sharia was baptized in the Church of Christ uniting with 40th Ave. Church of Christ.
She was in the Davidson County School System and a graduate of John Overton High School. She furthered her education by attending college.
She married the love of her life Robert Newsom and they enjoyed over 21 years of marital bliss. He preceded her in death.
Sharia was employed with Metro Davidson County as an Administrative Data Entry Specialist.
In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and cooking
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted mother Debra Mims, three daughters TyRone’ Mims, Shamon Rucker, Miracle Newsom, two grandchildren Rene’ Weaver and Rinyah Weaver, two sisters Lanei Spight and Demecka Spight, one brother Donato Spight, best friend/sister Adriane Burnes, Auntie Sharon Shorter, and a host of aunts, uncles, family and friends. Funeral Saturday, September 11, 2021, 12:00 noon at funeral home. Burial in Greenwood North.
