Savannah Haile Lauderdale

Savannah Haile Lauderdale was born on February 25, 1935, the late Hayden and Virgie Haile in Gainsboro, Tennessee. She departed this life surrounded by loving family and friends on May 10, 2023.

Savannah was educated through the Davidson County School System and attended Haynes High School. She was united in Holy Matrimony on March 5, 1955, to the late Floyd Daniel Lauderdale and they were blessed with five children. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd; children, Patricia and Lawrence Lauderdale and Stephanie Lauderdale- Ross. Savannah was second of five siblings that preceded her in death: three sisters, Ronella Roper, Fanny Scruggs, and Mary Haile; and one brother, Robert (Della) Haile.

For many years Savannah worked as a Mental Health Tech at Central State. She enjoyed things such as gardening, cooking from scratch, spending time with her sisters, and she cherished time with her children.

She is survived by her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Dorothy Lauderdale, a loving and devoted son, Timothy Lauderdale; brothers, Melvin Nathaniel and Alvin Ingle; sisters, Ruby Smith and Mary Marshall; loving and devoted granddaughter, Denise (Tory) Lee; grandsons, Carlos Palmer, David Lauderdale, and Devon (Tra’ Shaunda) Brown; granddaughter Tiffany Stevenson; 11 greatgrandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
