Sarah Viola Merritt

Sarah Viola (Trott, King) Merritt was born to Wakefield George Alfred Trott and Mildred Elizabeth Trott (Nee) Hill. She was born on August 25, 1934, the fifth of nine siblings. She grew up in the Trott family homestead of Crawl Hill, Hamilton Parish BERMUDA. She received her early childhood education at Temperance Hall School in Hamilton Parish, and later dropped out of school to help her family.

Viola, as she preferred to be called, loved to reminisce about her childhood days of playing marbles, bingo games and hopscotch in the neighborhood with her childhood friends. As a young girl, still in Bermuda, Viola would pick up many of her nieces & nephews and take them to see the Christmas lights. Much later in life she loved going to garage sales, rummage sales, estate sales, and yard sales. Viola loved many different items such as broches, salt & paper shakers, she enjoyed eating lunch with her children, grandchildren, and close friends. She also enjoyed traveling, which many times would lead to getting off the main roads and traveling some back roads (to the point of getting lost).

Visitation Saturday, January 22, 2022, 11-12 with funeral to follow at Grace Apostolic Church 1100 Lishey Ave. Burial in Greenwood North.
