Sallie L Dowell

Sallie L. Dowell was born August 6, 1936 in Nashville, TN to the late Robert and Hattie Payne, Jr. She attended Mt. Zeno School and Haynes High School. She worked in private homes. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Gilead Baptist Church July 15, 1960 under the leadership of F.M. Corder.

In addition to her parents, Sallie was preceded in death by her siblings Hubbard Payne, Irene Hayden, and Mary Pearl Payne, and her daughter Denise R. Dowell.
Left to cherish fond memories are her children, Frederick, Sherry, and Sonya Dowell. Her brother Alfred( Ruby)Payne Sr,; grandchildren Kevelyn Larkin, Frederick Dowell, Jr.; Sherronya Dycus, Shetia Dowell; great grandchildren, Carlos Jones, Jr, Sonyea Jones, Siyanne Matthews, Fariah Dowell, Malachi Singh- Lee, Nevaeh Dycus, Sacarrio Britton; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Devoted friends, Marguerite Black, Annie Mae Burns, Moss Family, Veronica Warren, The Carpenters and Matthews families. Viewing Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, 1-6pm at funeral home. Visitation Friday, December 10, 2021, 6-7pm with funeral to follow at Mount Olivet Baptist Church 144 Ewing Dr. Burial Saturday morning 9am in Greenwood North
