Robert H. Williams was born October 19, 1948, at Meharry Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Ralph Williams and Mymie Brinkley. He departed this fruitful life on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Summit Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Robert was educated in the Sumner County Public Schools, graduating from Union High School. He continued his education by attending Tennessee State University. Robert also played football. Robert was initiated in the Rho Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi in 1968. He was a loyal and dedicated member who loved his fraternity.
Robert met and married the love of his life Diane Smith while attending Tennessee State A&I and they have enjoyed over 52 years of love and laughter. This union was blessed with a son Reggie Williams.
Robert was baptized into Christ at West Eastland Church of Christ in Gallatin, Tn. upon moving to Nashville, Robert placed his membership with the Kings Lane Church of Christ where he maintained his membership for over 45 plus years. He was under the guidance of Brother Raymond Caruthers. Robert was known as the "teacher" for his reading of the scriptures each Sunday. Robert was very active in church, teaching Sunday School, Director of Education and worked with the Finance Committee. Robert was known to work wherever he was needed.
Robert was employed by IKG Steel, Nissan and Kroger Co. where he was in management for over a decade.
In his spare time Robert enjoyed studying Biblical History. He was an avid traveler and sports enthusiast. He was known for his sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Williams and Mymie Brinkley as well as his sister, Robbie Brinkley.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife, Diane Williams, son, Reginald (Yolanda) Williams, grandchildren, Ryan and Jada Williams, brothers-in-law, Rethel (Geneva) Smith, NJ., David Smith, FL., Aldric Smith, NJ., Ivory (Carol) Smith, TN., Keith (Michele) Smith, GA., sister-in-law, Alfreda (Michael) Brown, Tn., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his dear Kings Lane Church Family and friends.
