Rev. Dr. James Campbell, Sr.

Age 85, passed away November 26, 2013. Rev. Campbell Pastored First Baptist Church East Nashville for over 28 years. He was also a Biology Professor at Tennessee State University and served his country in the United States Armed Forces. He was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, a loving husband and father. He is survived by loving devoted wife, Jessie Lois Brown Campbell; sons, James (Erma) Campbell, Jr. (Pine Bluff, AR), Robert (Dorcia) Campbell, Sr. (Nashville, TN), Jeffrey Campbell (Nashville, TN) and Reginald Campbell (Chattanooga, TN); daughters, Anita Southerland (Norfolk, VA) and Jane Campbell (Nashville, TN); grandchildren, Jamaal (Maya) Campbell, Yovonda Barefield, Erin Campbell, Robert Campbell, Jr., Geanita Southerland, Tanisha Campbell, Brandon Campbell and Lindsey Campbell; great-grandchildren, Sherman Howard, Sani' Howard, Cemari Watkins, and Harleigh Campbell Jones; sisters, Annie C. Johnson (Lakeland, FL), and Mary Louise Kirkland (Pensacola, FL); devoted family friend, Lille Moore (Nashville, TN) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Viewing will be Friday, December 6, 2013 from 3-8 p.m., with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Visitation will be Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 11-12 Noon, with funeral to follow at First Baptist East Nashville, 601 Main Street, with Pastor Ronald Webb Jr., Eulogist.
