Renaldo Jaqua Batey

Renaldo Jaqua Batey "Chilli", born to Kim & Frank on July 15,1989 in Nashville, TN, lived a happy, humorous, and free life. He transitioned peacefully surrounded by family & friends on February 20,2024.

He was educated in the Metro Nashville Public School system, graduating with the class of 2008 at Antioch High School.

 Over the years, Renaldo expressed his love for security work while being employed at Lois M De Berry Special Needs Facility for many years, before transferring over to GardaWorld Security Company. He was known as " Batey" to all of the officers on all units.

In the everyday life of Renaldo, he enjoyed being a great father, brother, uncle, and friend all while being the jokester, and you were guaranteed to laugh and smile. To know Chilli (as we would call him), was to love him. He had special bond with all of his family members, even giving them special nicknames.

 Renaldo had a unique skill for video games on any system and could help you with any technology issue you may be having at the moment.  He also had a love for Anime with his favorite character being Trunks. If you ever visited Renaldo, he could show you the latest shows, movies and games that were up for release.

 Renaldo had a huge heart and never met a stranger, always the life of the party, always had a smile, and lived his life to the fullest. He will truly be missed.

 Renaldo was preceded in death by Grandmother's Janie & Jean.

  Those left to cherish his memories are his devoted mother and father Katrice (Emmett) Harvell & Joseph (Debra) Tharpe Sr. God Grandparents Winfrey & Faye Batey.  loving children Romen, Gabrielle, and Reyna Batey (Danielle), Siblings: Willie (Latosha), Joseph Jr., Xavier (Poricha) Tharpe Sr., Keithia Jackson, Kia Batey, & Shaundre Fuller. Nieces: J’Miyah, Zion, Janee, Ariyana, & Ja’Nya. nephews: Xavier Jr., Mauri, Wes, Zahir, Michael lll, Keith & Xavier B, a host of Uncles, Aunts, and many other close family members.

Renaldo had a special relationship with Patria Waggoner & Little Mickey. Although, they were cousins, he loved them both as siblings, two devoted best friends Brandon Campbell & Tahj Bolton and special friend Jamya Harris, Renaldo’s legacy will live on forever from the cherished friendships and bonds he had with us all.
