Reverend Raymond Clevell Woods age 73, peacefully answered the master’s call and entered glory on March 6, 2024, surrounded by family at his bedside at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the fourth child born to Wesley Clevell and Anna Georgia Couch Woods on July 5, 1950, in Hermitage, Tennessee.
Reverend Woods received his formal education in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System. He Was employed by Metropolitan Nashville School System. He was blessed to retire from Metro but continued working at Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack for several more years.
Raymond accepted Christ in his life at an early age. He became closer in his walk with Christ as he matured. He accepted his call to the ministry and was a minister at First Baptist Church South Inglewood until his health began to fail.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Georgia Woods, son, Derrick Woods, brothers, Robert Woods, Aaron Woods and Frank Woods.
Those left behind to cherish and celebrate his life’s memories are devoted sons, Raymond Woods, Jr., DeCarlos Woods, and Richard Woods, sisters; Carolyn Woods and Diane Lewis Woods, devoted brother, David (Kanyaphat) Woods, devoted grandchildren, Tranisha, Richard, Reginald, Deshaun, Kelise, and Jeremiah Woods, devoted, great grandson Ryan Woods. aunts; Lennola Martin, of Detroit, Michigan, Sarah Cup and Nenolaa Martin, sister-in-law, Cliffordean Woods, devoted friends Harold Pope, Andre Jeffries; devoted cousins Lisha Jordan. A host of nieces’ nephews, cousins, relatives and friends, and all those loved by him.
