Phillip “Ethan” Haynes was born March 13, 2004 in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Lorenzana “Lonnie” and Alwanda Haynes. He departed this life too soon on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Cookeville, Tennessee.
“Ethan” as he was known by friends and family was educated in Davidson County Public Schools. He was a 2022 graduate of MLK Magnet School where he received District Honors. He furthered his education by attending Tennessee Tech University from 2022 – 2024. While at Tn. Tech he received a Presidential Honor Student studying Wildlife Conservation Biology with a near perfect GPA. He was blessed to go on an internship in Africa “Discover Eden” this past summer that he thoroughly enjoyed.
On September 10, 2024, Ethan married his sweetheart, Desiree Bailey Haynes. Ethan had several jobs to include, Stocker/Bust Boy at Maggiano’s Restaurant in Nashville from 2021 – 2022, Store Associate at Ross in Cookeville, Tn. 2023-2024, TWRA Wildlife Internship, 2023 – 2024 and finally serving another internship with the Nashville Zoo from 2018-2019.
Ethan enjoyed hiking, watching Television, movies, video games, reptiles, wildlife, and was a Sword collector. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ethan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Phillip E. Haynes and Doris Marie Haynes, maternal grandmother, Nelva Ruth Abernathy-Hazelitt and father-in-law, Billy Bailey.
Those left to cherish Ethan’s memories are his wife, Desiree’ Bailey-Haynes, parents, Lorenzana and Alwanda Haynes, maternal, grandfather, William(Kiera) Hazelitt, sister, Tanisha Haynes, paternal uncles, , Vanderziel (Melissa) Haynes, Lemoine(Mary) Haynes, maternal aunts, Shirley (Scott) Grady and Sharonda Hazelitt, mother- in- law, Stephanie Wright-Bailey, pets, Ms. Cuddles the Yorkie and Toast the Western Hognose Snake a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors.
