Ollice Nathan Hogue “Scooter” was born July 1, 1942 to Gertrude “Hautie” Conner and James “Pappa Emmett” Hogue in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Ollice passed away suddenly and peacefully at his life-long residence in Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday, January 25, 2024, to be with his heavenly lovely wife, Martha Hogue and loving family members who preceded him in death.
At an early age of 14, Ollice “Scooter” loved riding his pony, playing his guitar, and swimming. He was very intelligent, smart, quiet, shy, and well-educated growing up. Ollice graduated from Clarke Training High School in 1962, where he also played football.
Ollice accepted Christ and professed his faith in God at a very early age. Early in life, he married his heavenly queen, Martha Mae Hogue. He was an amazing husband and father.
Ollice was a very hard worker! He was a Truck Driver and Supervised several companies and businesses. He enjoyed talks on the phone with his long-time best friend, Harold Rogers. He loved to fish, watch cowboy movies, playing cards, and playing with his granddaughter, Grace, whom he called “little mama”! Ollice enjoyed watching sports his favorite football teams are the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots. He spent his life making his family happy and taking care of their many needs. He was a devoted father. He appreciated all the love and care his children, and stepchildren provided for him.
Ollice was loved by all his family members. His daughter “Jackie” provided everyday medical care to make her father comfortable during his illness “no matter what”, and he will be missed tremendously. Ollice will forever hold a special place in our hearts and will always be remembered for his smile, laughter, and kind heart.
Ollice was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Hogue, parents, Gertrude Conner and James Hogue, brothers, M.L., Robert Mack, Roosevelt, Raymond Joe, Henry, James, Rufus, sisters Zella Bea, Margaret, Jeweldine, and Cassie.
His earthly family left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jacqueline Hogue, Cassandra Hogue, sons, Michael Hogue, Marlen Hogue, stepchildren, Victoria Farris, Teresa (Ira) Daniel, Joseph Colter, devoted granddaughter/daughter, Tamika (Alfred) Kelley, granddaughters, Keana Richardson, Briana (Jamal) Ramsey, Shawntoria Farris, Kelsey Hogue of Dallas, TX., Madison Daniel, Grace Hogue “little mama”, grandsons, Eric Farris, Daron Davidson, Jacques Davidson, Marcquis Hogue, Brandon Beasley of Brooklyn, NY., Jordan Hogue, Jaylen Hogue, 12 great grandchildren, devoted high school best friend, Mr. Harold Rogers, Tyrone Brown, a host of nieces, nephews, several other extended family members, and friends.
