Moses Owens was born July 22, 1928, in Fayetteville, Tennessee to the union of Carl and Roberta Massey Owens. He departed this fruitful life on Wednesday, July 3, 2024at Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Moses accepted Christ in his life at an early age and was a member of Lee Chapel A.M.E Church for over 75 years.
Moses was educated in Lincoln County Schools in Fayetteville. After graduation Moses enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces branch of the Army. He served from 1950 – 1952 and received an honorable discharge.
Moses married the love of his life Lillian Katheryn Owens 4/12/1951.
He was employed as a Healthcare professional. In his early years he worked at Wilson Quick. He continued to work alongside of his co-worker to form the company, Williams Medical Supply. There he spent many, many years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed Bowling, Dancing and Traveling
Moses never met a stranger, and everyone loved him for his caring spirit. He never complained and was always positive. He lived his life helping others. Moses would give to others all he had because he knew that God would provide him with what he needed daily. He was a good honest dependable worker and was admired by his company. He also helped others seek gainful employment. Moses was a provider for his family. He also opened his home to many family members when they had transitions in life.
Moses also knew how to say "Yes" to his wife Katheryn, as they had a special bond that created family Unity.
Moses was Preceded in death, by his parents, Carl and Roberta Owens, wife, Lillian Katheryn (Halsey) Owens, sibling, Alease Wilson, Adrue Kertchaval, Samuel Owens, Lorine Parks, Gloria McCorthy, Dave Owens, Bettye Jackson, Stella Lamb, Paul Owens, Mildred Thomison and June Owens.
Those left to cherish his loving memories are his sons: Michael (Yvonne) Owens, Kevin Owens, daughters: Donna Owens, Sheryl Owens, sister, Ester Buchanan and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren , great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
