Mary V (Vaughn) Wilhoite, affectionately known as “Genna Mae”, was born on June 30, 1947 to John L & Hannah Catherine Vaughn in Nashville, TN. She received her public education from Meigs Magnet School and Draughon Junior College.
A devoted public servant and faithful community member, Mary gave countless hours helping others, whether it be making meals for friends and loved ones to working the F.O.P. camp spanning several decades. Deeply committed to her faith, she was a faithful and active member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
After retiring from the Metro Nashville Police Department, where she served for over 30 years, she leaves behind a legacy of dedication and service.
She leaves to cherish her memory, family and friends that fiercely loved her. Children: Daniel (Carla) Bradford & Denise Armstrong; Grandchildren: Kia, Chris, Kaitlyn, PVT Jalen & Carlan; Great-grandchildren: Monet, Mylo & Annaliese; Siblings: William (Marla) Haymer, Alice Tubbs, Anna (Leonard) Modena, Betty Vaughn, Billie (Richard) O’Neal, Diane Haymer, Gary Hardison, Julia Haymer, Martha (Barry) Vaughn, Travis (Tonia) Haymer; Deborah & Tricea Wilson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close sister-friends, family and even more friends. Her spirit will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
