Martez Maurice Coaks

Martez Maurice Coaks was born in Chicago IL @ St. Bernard hospital on August 15, 1989. Martez was the youngest child and only boy of the 5 M’s siblings which made him even more special in everyone’s eyes. Martez was one of the most strong-willed, hilarious, fun-loving, giving, charismatic, family oriented person you would ever meet who would give you the shirt off his back. He had a huge smile and even bigger laugh that made you want to laugh too. Those that knew him knows he absolutely LOVED his family especially his pride and joy, his only daughter Mara Renee Marie and his mother, his Queen Synovia Renee Coaks who proceeded him in death in 2006. He was also proceeded in death by his grandparents-James and Sarah Coaks and Grandmother (Granny) Herbert.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his only child Mara (Jessica) Morales, the rest of the 4 M’s-Monica (Undra) Britton, Marshunt (Cedric) Edwards, Myesha (Bert) Jackson, and Markeila Moore. 12 nieces and nephews: Delashay, DeUndra, DeVontae, Jaylen, Destinee, Mekhi, Desirae, Malakhi, Makiyah, Mariyah, Ni’ya, Mason, plus 1 nephew Nate who proceeded him in death. He leaves 5 aunts and uncles, Ethel Wilson, Velma Coaks, Aletha (Terrance) Booker, Harold McCaster, James “Jim Dog” Coaks, and a host of bro/sis/cousins, cousins, great aunts/uncles/cousins extended family and close family friends. He also leaves Melvin “Melbo” Herbert and siblings including Nadia Herbert, Kameka Herbert, Jasmin (CoCo) Jones, Iesha Herbert, lil Melvin Herbert and Jaquan Gray. Along with a host of nieces (7), nephews (1), cousins, other siblings, extended family and his loving partner and confidant Brendasia (Khloe) Jarrett.
Martez you make us all proud and will truly be missed; no one will ever fill this void. You taught us how to live and enjoy in the moment and for that we are thankful.
