Margaret Louise Wilson

Margaret Louise Wilson (Affectionately known as “Poot to family and friends received her call from the Lord to come home and departed this life on Saturday, January 4, 2025, surrounded by family at Summit Medical Center. She was born to the late Ethel Louise Haynes on March 18, 1944. She is proceeded in death by her mother Ethel Louise Haynes; husband Joe Willie Wilson Sr, sister Carol Welch, niece Cynthia Griffin, grandchild Angel Wilson, and cousin Lucille Flenoy.

Margaret “Poot” was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System. She was employed at Middle TN Mental Health Institute for many years until she retired.

Margaret “Poot” accepted Christ at an early age, and later became a member at Mount Paran Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor John C. Lee and had a personal relationship with the Lord.

Margaret “Poot” enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was loyal and dedicated to helping her family and many people. Her acts of kindness were based on the love of family. She never met a stranger. She had a passion of caring for children. In a deep reflection of her life, there were words that her family and friends would best describe her: “A loving and caring mother” and “an affectionate grandmother.”

Cherishing her memory and mourning her passing are her devoted sons: Joe Wilson; Kevin (Jackie) Wilson, and Rodney (Stephanie) Wilson; grandchildren: devoted granddaughter Aleashia Griffin, Rodney Jr, LeDontae, and Tyler Wilson. Brittany and Leon Covington, Ronnie Griffin, Kevin (Jerisha) Wilson, Alyssa, Auna, Aleshia, Prince Amir, Alania, Azariah, Armii, Prince Amari, Ayahni, and Azahni Wilson. great grandchildren: Richard Griffin, and Amir Sesay; Nieces: Wanda Lynce, Jacqueline Cosby, Sharon (Norbet) Cosby, Princess Welch, Carmanisha, Lashanda, and Shaundrika Griffin, Tanga Russell and Amy Wiseman; nephews: Johnny, Torrance, and Arnie Cosby, Jerry Buckner. Cousins: Cory Flenoy, and Shirley Fay Wofford, Little Rock, AK Devoted friend; Teresa Watson. A host of friends, relatives, and other family members.
