Marcella Renee Johnson departed this life on November 10, 2021 at the age of 34. Marcella was born July 24, 1987 to the late Marcel Johnson Sr. and Sharon Johnson in Nashville, Tennessee.
Marcella gave her life to Christ at an early age and believed in the Lord. Marcella was a dedicated employee at T- Mobile, where she lived out her passion for education being a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene College, she taught the new hires training class. She was well known for her smile. She loved good food and traveling.
A self-proclaimed “sneakerhead”, Marcella enjoyed almost any good football or basketball game. Marcella looked forward to Easter each year and showered her family and friends with love, food and laughter during her annual Easter Fest.
Marcella faced Lupus and Kidney disease with a resilience and fortitude that inspired all who knew her story. Though she faced these certain health challenges, she always maintained a positive outlook and Zest for life that set an example for her family and friends.
Marcella was preceded in death by her father Marcel Johnson Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving mother Sharon Johnson, brothers Marcel Johnson Jr., Patrick Ejike, sister Nikki Ejike King (Clarence), beloved son Kingston Hicks, Godson David Vaughn, stepmother Renee Johnson, grandfather Samuel Buchanan (Retha), grandmother Robbie Ward, aunts Stacy Burden, Salithia Young (Jesse), Yvonne Johnson- Cleveland, Cassandra Sales, Lisa Pennington, Michelle Bratton, Denise Godwin, Cynthia Patterson, Trenisha Alford, uncles Minister Darryl Brown (Anjetta), Eric Ward, Delmas Ward, Maurice McCord, special devoted friends Keelie W., Maya L., Erin J., Jenn M., Elizabeth A., Tricia A., Luisa M., Caryn B., Allie V., Tiffany H., Maya N., Dion, Steve, Sonny, and the Sychareune Family, Supportive T-Mobile Family, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family of Marcella “Cella” Johnson would like to extend a sincere appreciation for all the acts of love and kindness shown during this time. Marcella was a daughter, sister, niece, God mother, granddaughter, coworker, true friend, and most of all a warrior. We would like to give special thanks to her medical doctors and the entire Vanderbilt Staff, including her Dialysis team and nurse Ann. Her circle of friends, her T- Mobile Family and extended family. Special thanks to all of those who stood by her through this hard fight.
