Mamie Lea Steverson

Mamie Lea Steverson was born on December 15, 1948, to her mother, Helen Steverson in Lebanon, Tennessee. She gained her wings and entered eternal life peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at her residence.

Mamie received her education in Hamilton County Public School system graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in 1965. She went on to attend Tennessee State University for two years. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age when she was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Lebanon, TN. She later united with Foster Chapel and Beech Creek Missionary Baptist until her death.

Mamie dedicated 20 years of public service working at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel where she retired after the pandemic. She loved to sing especially in the church choir, playing spades, watching game shows, movies, shopping, and basically getting out and about. She will be missed dearly by all who loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted daughter, Tamaki Steverson; and devoted sons, Rico Steverson, James Romel (Shamika) Steverson; granddaughters, Diamond Steverson, Rodricka Stafford, Rodneshia Stafford, Airreonna March; grandson, Payton March; devoted nephews, Terry Steverson, Lamont Ensley; nephews, James Ensley, Lorenzo Ensley; nieces, Shemeka Ensley, , Akela Hudson, Terriana Steverson; great niece and nephew, Jeremiah Wilson, Adreneyonia Ensley; and a host of other great nieces, nephews, grandchildren; devoted cousins, Bobbre Dangerfield, Sheree Dangerfield, Virginia (Chester) Brown; devoted long lasting friends, Solene Jackson, Beverly Smith, Katre Sanders, Willie Mae Armstrong, Margaret Brown Shalique March, Sheila March; and a host of other relatives and friends.
