Ms. Lula Mae Young was born July 26, 1944, in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of James Moore and Laura Louise Young. This sweet life came to an end on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Lula was educated in the Nashville Davison County Schools. She was a graduate of Meigs High School.
Lula was most proud of one of her biggest achievements of quitting smoking after over 50 years. This coming March would have been 10 years smoke free.
Lula was employed by Apex Linen for over 20 years. After leaving Apex, she worked as a Supervising Public Service workers for Metro General Services for 12 before retiring. Lula could not sit still so she worked her final job at Dollar General Sore for 12 years under her beloved Jenny and James. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, watching Tyler Perry Shows, Westerns and her favorites were Sonny and General Hospital.
Lula was preceded in death by her parents, James Moore and Laura Young, sisters, Mildred Young Wilkerson, Geraldine Young Mays, Eunice Jones and brother, Joseph Jones.
Those left to cherish her memories are loving and devoted daughters, Marie Roberts and LeTonya Young, sister, Delores Young, grandchildren, Tamika (Pietz) Pearson, Kenetra (Dwight) Harris, Miko Roberts, Ja’Mario Young, Jaszmine (Sam) Ray and JaTon Young, great-grandchildren, Joshua Pearson, Dezirae Harris, Deztiny Harris, Thomas Green, Jr., and Ja’Khari Ray
