Laurine Walker

Ms. Laurine Walker was born on May 14, 1952, and raised in Denmark, Tennessee, by her hardworking and loving parents, Cleveland Walker and Eva Weddle-Walker. As a native of Denmark, Tennessee, Laurine became a London Branch Baptist Church member in Haywood County, where she sang in the Sunshine Choir. She also attended West High School and participated in numerous talent shows.
After graduating high school in 1970, Laurine moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and attended Tennessee State University. She began her studies at TSU in business administration before changing her focus to criminal justice. Laurine was the first in her family to attend a university and inspired her two younger siblings to attend college. She started working in the anatomy department at Meharry Medical College during her college career. She graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
Laurine was an Eastern Star and a faithful Lake Providence Missionary Baptist Church member. Laurine loved to travel, cook, and entertain her family. She was a dedicated caregiver for her aging parents while managing her career.

Laurine was preceded in death by her parents Cleveland and Eva Walker, brothers Dale, Keith, and Cleveland Jr., sisters Jeanette, Almarie, Ruth, and Ruby. She leaves to cherish her memory, brothers Melvin and Alvin (Cheryl) and sisters Mildred Murray-Erwin and Princess Fuller, aunts Dossie Bonds and Doris Dunson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation Saturday, December 18, 2021, 11-12 with funeral to follow at Lake Providence M.B. Church 5891 Nolensville Rd. Burial Sunday in Jackson, Tn.
