Larry Edward Coleman

Larry Edward Coleman Sr. was born September 3rd, 1947 to the late Elva Reedus Mosby and the Late

Edward Coleman. He departed this life on April 24th, 2023. Larry was educated in both the Catholic and Nashville public school systems. He graduated from Pearl Senior High School in 1965 and continued his education at Tennessee State University. Larry professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was united with Saint Vincent DePaul catholic church.

Larry was united in holy matrimony to Dorinda Alice Dowell in 1968, and to this union were four children, three sons, and one daughter.

Larry’s earliest employment was at Meharry Medical College Animal Research Department. He was also an employee of the Security Department at Tennessee State University. Larry was an employee of the Tennessee State Department of Corrections as well as an employee of Metropolitan Davidson County.

After Twenty-five years, Larry retired from Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing Plant in LaVergne, Tennessee.

Larry was a Thirty-Second Degree Mason and member of Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Tennessee Hella Temple No 105.

Larry loved hunting and was an avid gun collector, but his favorite pastime was fishing. He loved tailoring and upholstering furniture and enjoyed customizing Vans, and automobile interiors. But in later years watching wrestling became his favorite pastime.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Anthony Lee Coleman, nephew Raymond Coleman, niece Latonya Cotton, and granddaughter Keondra Williams.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories former wife: Dorinda Dowell Coleman, Children: Brian (Denise) Coleman, Andriette Coleman Parker, Larry (Toi) Coleman Jr., and Rodney (Samantha) Coleman Sr.

Siblings: Raymond (Princess) Coleman, Valarie Coleman, Linda (John) Morrow, Barbara Moore, and Michael Coleman. He also leaves grandchildren Brittany Coleman, Brianna Coleman, Rodney Coleman Jr., Jacob Mosley, Angelino Hatwood, 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
