LaKeshia Dannielle Richardson Burton was born in Greenville, Mississippi on February 11,1985 to Ricky and Lucy Richardson. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and joined Greater Imani Church & Christian Center in Memphis, Tennessee under the teaching of Dr. Bill Adkins.
After moving to Nashville she joined Olive Branch Church in Nashville, Tennessee under the leadership of Dr. Vincent L. Windrow. LaKeshia graduated as Valedictorian from Whitehaven High School in Memphis, Tennessee. She attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics and Economics. She later attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and earned her Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from the Fuqua School of Business in 2014.
LaKeshia always had a thirst for knowledge and continuing education and received a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the Broad Residency in Urban Business Program in 2016. She recently began her journey to professional coaching by completing training from The Lumia Signature Program.
LaKeshia married the love of her life, her soulmate, her one, her favorite human, Corey Keon Burton on September 8, 2018. God blessed them to be married for 1,679 days. To this union was born a precious daughter, Lyric Maelise Burton, now 2 years old. LaKeshia was a successful professional whose 16 year career included being manager and independent consultant for such companies as: Mysis, Ernst and Young, JP Morgan Chase, PepsiCo/Frito Lay, LEAD Public Schools, Schoolzilla, co-owner of Norrah Marketing and a Self-Employed Independent Education Consultant.
LaKeshia loved coming up with engaging activities to do with Lyric. She also loved to read and she and Corey gave Lyric a solid, strong foundation and love of books that will help her in her life’s journey. There is so much more to LaKeshia than can be summed up in a few words on a page. She lived her life full of love for family and friends. Her uncontrollable laughter was infectious. Her smile and gentle spirit brightened any space she was in. Her meticulous attention to detail and commitment gently guided not only those she coached, but close family and friends, in the direction of their dreams.
She was humble, kind, loving and genuine. One of her favorite songs was “What God Has For Me, It Is For Me.” God has peace for her. God has joy for her. God has unending and everlasting life and love for her. God has the best in her.
She departed this life, with her husband and family by her side, and gained her heavenly wings on April 11, 2023 at TriStar Trinity Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee.
LaKeshia leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories: her loving husband; Corey, her beautiful daughter; Lyric, her parents, her brother; Ricky DeAngelo Richardson, two brothers-in-law; Dontuea (Jessica), Jake (Abbie), four sisters-in-law; Jacques, Courtney (JB Savie), Darcy (Trip), LaDawn (Paul), her best friend since middle school; La Vida Johnson, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
