Kenneth Reginald James was born March 26, 1949 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the son to the late Mary Lee James.
Kenneth accepted Christ at an early age and was a loving faithful member of Poole’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Woodville, North Carolina under the leadership of Pastor H.V. White. He later became a faithful member at Cowan Street Missionary Baptist Church under the Leadership of Pastor Louis C. Taylor where he served on the usher board.
Kenneth was educated in Perquimans County Union School in Winfall, North Carolina. He also attended schools in Edenton, North Carolina, Greenville, North Carolina, and Kinston, North Carolina.
Kenneth moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1995. He resided with JoAnn Moton and family, until her passing.
Kenneth trained and worked at the Rochelle Center. He loved to bowl, go to the movies, and out to eat. He loved to write on papers, listen to music, watch his cowboy movies, and enjoy family and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving mother Mary Lee James, and the ones that raised him Aunt Molly and Uncle Herbert Green (Mom and Dad), and sister-in-law, Mary Hawkins.
He leaves to cherish his memories brother, Linwood (Mary) Hawkins, sisters, Gloria (Gwayne) Davis, Cheryl (Terence) Hailey, Daphne Patton, devoted niece, Linnette (Reginald) Jackson, devoted nephews, Linwood (Vesia) Hawkins, Jr., Joshua Patton, also was his Barber, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
