John David Burks, III

John David Burks III was born on February 21, 1966 in Jackson, Mississippi to the union of John David, Jr. and Mattie Thompson. He entered into rest on December 26, 2021

John accepted Christ at an early age and was united with New Mt. Zion in Gluckstadt, Mississippi. He was educated in Jackson Mississippi Public Schools, attending GN Smith Elementary, Brinkley Junior High, graduating from Murrah High School class of 1984.
John married Helen McArthur on October 8, 1997, they have enjoyed 24 years of marriage. He was employed with UPS and ABF Trucking Company. John also enjoyed working on cars and he was a fantastic cook. He was well known for his turkey legs.
He leaves to cherish his memories loving wife Helen Burks, son John Burks, IV., mother Mattie (Johnny) Thompson of Jackson, MS., father John David Jr. of Los Angeles, CA., sister Nina (Reginald) Spencer of Jackson, MS., and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other family and friends. Visitation Monday, January 3, 2022, 12-1 with Memorial Service to follow at funeral home.
