Joe Robert Wallace

Joe Robert Wallace was born in Nashville, Tennessee on September 30, 1935 to the late Annie Gilton and Joe Will Wallace.  He transitioned to his heavenly home on March 13, 2024 at Saint Thomas West Hospital.

Joe was educated in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School system.  He later attended Tennessee State University and Nashville State School of Technology.  Through dedication and hard work to his profession, he was employed at Meharry Medical College at the Lloyd C. Elam Mental Health Center for over 30 years.  After retiring, he worked at Lowes of Nashville,  Skyline Medical Center and Summit Hospital. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized.

In June 1955, Joe married Rose Edith Andrews and to this union three daughters were born, Carmelita, Deborah, and Delitha.

Joe loved sports.   He was an avid fan of the Tennessee Titans and Tennessee State Tigers.  He will truly be missed by all of his loved ones.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Delitha.

He leaves to cherish his memories loving,  devoted wife of 68 years, Rose, daughters, Carmelita, Deborah (Macon) Cosby; grandson, Jonathan Cory Williamson; granddaughters, Collette Cosby, Laneese (Fernando Ochoa) Cosby; great grandchildren, Jaila Rose Williamson, Cori Williamson, Jamison Williamson ; dear friends, Mr. Anthony Lee, Mrs. Alma and Harold Fugua, Mr. Hershell Warren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
