Jerome Wendell Trice I, entered the world on September 4, 1959 in Henderson, Tennessee, born to Harold Lester Trice, Jr. and Jewell Irene Bowers Trice. He passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024. He was a devoted person to his family and friends.
Jerome received his education in the Chester County Tennessee school system and graduated in from the Chester County High School in Henderson. One thing that stands out - In the year of 1967, Ricky and Jerome were two of three students to integrate the Jacks Creek Elementary School. They were warmly welcomed due to their family’s deep community roots. Growing up, Jerome and Ricky shared a close bond, even sharing a pair of pants tailored by their mother for various school occasions.
Jerome’s life was defined by his fervent dedication to understanding and following God’s Word. He was baptized at Oak Grove Church of Christ at the age of 10 and served in congregations including the Ninth Street Church of Christ in Obion, Hydes Ferry Road Church of Christ in Nashville, and the Line Street Church of Christ in Evansville, Indiana. He was a member of the Schrader Lane Church of Christ, where he looked forward to seeing his siblings and friends for worship.
In addition to his academic achievements, Jerome served in the United States Navy Reserves as a Mass Communications Specialist, stationed at various locations including the Mid-Atlantic Reserve Component Command in Norfolk, VA.
He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and is preceded in death by his beloved father, Harold L. Trice, Jr. Jerome is survived by his mother, Jewell I. Trice; three sons, Jerome W. (Sheketha) Trice, II; Daniel S. Trice; Julian L. Trice; grandchildren,
Danayla, Seonni, Londyn, Josiah and Cairo Trice; sister, Sylvia (Hubert) Harris, Jr.; brothers, Ricky, Joe (Valerie) Trice; John Christopher (Sandra) Trice, I; wife, Tonja Trice; bonus children, Racquel Pointer, Rachael Pointer and Russell Pointer; family pet, Dasher; and a host of other relatives and friends.
