Janie Mai Bridges-Kelley

Mrs. Janie Mai Bridges Kelley was born on July 16,1948 to the union of Lintz Martindale and Lucy Bowens Bridges in Nashville, Tennessee. She departed this earthly life for her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the Bethany Health and Rehabilitation Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Janie accepted Christ at an early age and truly loved the Lord.  She loved the Lord and walked by faith before her family and friends.

Janie graduated in the class of 1968 from Cameron High School, Nashville, Tennessee. After graduation She continued her education with Job Corps.

Janie was united in holy matrimony to Ellis Kelley and shared a union of love, trust, and devotion for over 54 years.

She found her calling by working for the Department of Mental Health, and the Department of Education. She truly enjoyed helping people. She was later employed by the Tennessee Department of Safety.  Janie demonstrated great work ethics and was always positive.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Lintz Martindale and Lucy Bridges,  her sister, Gracey Lee; brothers, James Robert, Kirk and Edwin Bowens.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her husband, Ellis Kelley; son, Ellis Jermaine Kelley; daughter, Dionne Shennell Kelley; granddaughter Toni Kelley; great-grandchildren, Diora Campbell, and Kharma Shirrill.
