James Lee Wilson

James Lee Wilson was born on March 30, 1952 to his parents, Viola E. Wilson and James R. Wilson in Henry County, Tennessee. He departed this earthly life and gained his wings on January 22, 2025.

James professed a Hope in Christ at an early age and united with Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Cottage Grove, Tennessee. He received his formal education in Henry County Public School system graduating from Henry County High in 1970.

After high school, James enlisted in the United States Army National Guard where he earned the rank of a Sergeant and served honorably for 26 years. He also worked at Midland Ross (Brake), Lingl Corp, and Tecumseh Product (Euro) Company for many years. He enjoyed guns, target practice, tinkering with stuff with grands, nieces and nephews.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Peggy Diane Wilson; sons, Darrel (Angie) Wilson, (Paris, TN), Martice Wilson, (Atlanta, GA), Adam (Amber) Cary, (McKenzie, TN); daughters, Michelle Daughtery (Kokomo, IN), April Cary (Paris, TN); sister, Gloria (Richard) Thomas, (Paris TN); brothers, James Darnell (Anita) Wilson, (Paris, TN), William E. (Angie) Wilson, (Paris, TN); grandchildren, Annah Andrews, Sierra, Alize, Darius Wilson, Bryton Fry, Enlinn Clayton, Cameron Humphreys, Yah-Messiah Tamez Wilson, Felecia Lowery; 5 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; special nephews, Richard “Bug” Thomas, Jr., (Paris, TN) Treyvon Thomas, (Ft. Liberty, NC)-his shooting buddies always!; cousins- too many to write but loved them all; aunts, Mildred Porter, (Paris, TN), Louise Wilson, (Paris, TN); special friends, Junior Milam-his go to when he needed information or a hand; Michael Williams, Sr.-life long friend and military buddy, Ray Taylor-work buds and a friend always; and other relatives and friends.
