James Lockridge

Mr. James Anderson Lockridge was born February 4, 1956, in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Eugene and Maxcile Lockridge. This productive life came to an end on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

James was affectionately known as “Bull” and “Jimmy”. James accepted Christ on October 4, 2018.

He was educated in the Nashville Davidson County Public School System and was a 1974 graduate of East High School.

James married the love of his life Beverly Angela Hughes on July 8, 2000. Their marriage of 24 years was full of love and laughter.

James was employed by Metro Board of Education for over 34 years. He was Head Custodian at Wright Middle School for over 14 years until he was blessed to retire in 2017.

In his spare time, He enjoyed fishing, listening to music and racing. He also enjoyed maintaining his Carrera Slot Cars and racing with his friends always winning the race LOL. He also enjoyed time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Eugene and Maxcille Lockridge, son, Lemanuel, Sr., brothers, Clifford and Bobby Lockridge, Sr., devoted cousin, Mildred Woodard (Mouse), best friend, Charles Babb, brother-in-law, Wardell Hughes, Jr, (Cathryn), Aldon Edwards.

James leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Beverly Angela Hughes-Lockridge, daughters, Kelly Latrice Zaihma (Rasheed), Jamie Maxcile Ewing (Curtis), Latrice M. Hughes, sister-Lil Edwards, sisters-in-law, Princess Lockridge, Sandra Jones, brother-in-law, Mark Hughes (Sandy), 4 granddaughters, and 5 grandsons, devoted cousin, Annette and Quincy, a host of nieces and nephews, best friends, devoted, Donnell Carter, Michael (Cathy) Mayes., San (Jerry) Bell, Louis Motley, Ronnie and (Pam) Primm, J.T. McCray, Kathy and Pete Dillard, Jeff (Sherita) Woods, Baba, Rick, a host of other relatives and friends.
