James Edward Johnson (King James) was born January 29, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Eugene Teasley and Claudia Mae Johnson. Surrounded by family and friends, he transitioned at his home on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. James confessed his love of Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greater First Baptist Church. He lived in Lewisburg, TN for many years and was educated at Marshall County High and Jones High Schools. He was a brick mason and constructed many buildings and homes throughout the city. He retired after 37 years with the Metro Davidson County Board of Education. He was also employed at Target for 15 years until his failed health. James enjoyed fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren, shooting pool, motorcycling and bowling. He was a country music enthusiast. Those left to cherish his memories are his siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
