Ida Louise Farmer

June 3, 1932 — March 20, 2023

Our Beloved Mother, Wife, Aunt, and Grandmother was called home to the loving Arms of God the Father, the night of Monday, March 20, 2023 at her residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

 

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Farmer, parents, Lela Mae Marsh and David James Marsh of Pulaski, Tennessee, sons, Clarence Covington Jr., Raymond Covington, Melvin Covington, daughter, Debra Covington Moody, siblings, Isaac, Lloyd, Mary Frances, and cousin, Mattie Gurley.

 

Ida Louise Marsh Farmer was born on June 3, 1932 in Pulaski, Tennessee.

 

Ida received her formal education in Metro Nashville Public School Systems. She was employed with SkyChef as a cook, for a number of years, until her retirement. She also had a Church Ministry, calling members during the week and on Sunday, before church.

 

Ida never met a stranger. She thoroughly enjoyed attending social gatherings at both Hadley and Elizabeth Park Community Centers, where they treated her like family. She was a wonderful mother to her nine children and she will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her!

 

She leaves to cherish her loving memory daughters, Jerri Farmer Lawrence, Anita Covington, Vennessia (Victor) Rhodes, sons, Kim (Kurtese) Covington, Kevin Covington, grandchildren, Keith Farmer, Timothy Farmer, Shawn (Telitha) Covington, Deshawn (Quenisha) Covington, LaTasha (Kevin) Johnson, Donald (April) Hines, Donnell (Kimberly) Hines, Donte (Lee) Hines, Donita Hines, Markell Price, Melvina Holder, Trevor Covington, Tomineka Davis, 36 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, cousins, James Henry, Jake Sherrelle, devoted nephew, David Marsh, sister-in-law, Agnes Osborne, devoted friends, Mrs. Alice Banks, Alice Johnson, Ruth Byrdsong, Lillie Cogger, her John Henry Hale Children, whom she grew to love, the Bell’s, Caruthers’s, Clay’s, Howard’s, Johnson’s, Jones’s, Lang’s, Russell’s, Washington’s, Weatherford’s, William’s, Wilson’s, Moore’s, Brown’s, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
