Glennis Ann Key was born on June 13, 1960, to the loving parents Christine Key Simmons and Flornol Lane in Nashville, Tennessee. She gained her wings and entered eternal life on April 9, 2025, at Tri Star Summit Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Glennis was educated in the Davidson County Public Schools system graduating from the historic Pearl High School in 1978. As a young lady, she accepted Christ in her life. She united with New Beginnings Baptist Church and was a frequent visitor of Faith United Missionary Baptist Church, until her health started to fail. She worked for many years as an assembler at Gibson Guitar in Nashville, Tennessee.
Glennis had a creative spirit and loved music and the arts. She was also a car enthusiast. She will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew her. She is preceded in death by Sims H. Key, Michael W. Key, Irwin O. Key and Lolithia S. (Oden)Key.
She leaves to cherish her memories her sister, Barbara G. Key; brothers, Vincent L. Key, Clinton E. Key; bonus daughters, Keyborye Powell, Brandi Jennings; uncle, Rueben Key; bonus son, Quinton Clarkson; and a host of half siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; devoted friends, Jody Ellis, Shelly Coffey, Bridgett Wave; other relatives and friends.
