Fred Thomas

Fred Walter Thomas Sr. was born on October 6, 1939 in Charlotte, Tennessee to the union of William
Thomas and Curtis Carol Williams-Thomas. He departed this life on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Alive
Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.
Fred accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was united with Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. He
was educated in Davidson County Nashville Public Schools, graduating from Pearl High School. He also
attended American Baptist College, receiving his Bachelor, and Scarritt College receiving his Master in
Divinity.
Fred was employed with Baptist Sunday School Board, Metro Schools, Allen Barber Shop, Vanderbilt
University, Pastor at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, Columbia, TN., and he was a photographer.
Fred enjoyed music (Pearl High School Band & Alumni Band), Golf, taking photos, Bicycle riding, reading,
watching football and basketball. He was a wonderful father, brother, and friend. He will be miss by all
who knew and loved him!!!
He leaves to cherish his memories children, Linda Douglas (Reginald), Fred W. Thomas Jr. (Tamara),
Valerie Thomas, Minister Terry M. Thomas, Reginald Thomas, Clintonia (Zettie) Simmons-Nichols
(Donald), Bonus daughter, Phyllis Thomas Copling, grandchildren, Joshua Thomas, Jessica Simmons-
Wilson (Parrish), Everett Simmons, Christopher Simmons, Gabriel Douglas, Titus Douglas, Jennifer
Thomas, Courtney Thomas, Amber Spain, Crystal Crowder, Preston Holmes, nephews & Nieces, James
Hambrick(Denise), Darryl Hambrick (Veronica), Jenice “Nikki” Hambrick, Deborah Smith, Brenda
Goodrum, Walter Phillips (Lanitra), Sabrina Evans (Glenn), Kenneth Phillips (Vileta), Jason Walton,
JoAnna Walton, long-time friend, Herman Ross, companion, Juanita Rucker, and a host of cousins,
family, and friends.
