Eunice L Nowlin

February 2, 1950 — January 18, 2025

Eunice Laverne Nowlin was born on February 2, 1950, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the union of Ewing Johnson and Cloetelle Cortner. After living a life filled with love and service, Eunice passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Centennial Hospital.

Eunice was a faithful member of Christ Shallow Missionary Baptist Church, where she was dedicated to her faith and service to others. She was educated in the Nashville Davidson County Schools and graduated from Cameron High School. Eunice went on to further her education at Hubbard Hospital, where she earned her skilled nurse certification, a career she was deeply passionate about.

Eunice was married to the late Robert T. Nowlin for 40 years before his passing. In her earlier years, she was the proud owner of four Victory 2.0 L.B.S.S Thrift Stores in the East Nashville area. Every Friday evening, Eunice would host Jubilee Night, a special event where she welcomed the homeless, providing them with food, fellowship, and compassion. Her ministry, Victory 2.0, was rooted in the belief that we are all loving brothers and sisters in spirit.

Beyond her work, Eunice cherished time spent with her family, often hosting gatherings and events at her home. She also found joy in contributing to her church's ministry, where she made a lasting impact on those who knew her.

Eunice is preceded in death by her children, Kimley Johnson and Frank Johnson Sr. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving children: Corey Boone, Rodney Nowlin; her devoted sisters: Chamaine Johnson and Shelia Johnson; and her brothers: Milton Cortner, Rodrick Johnson, and Gregory Johnson. She will also be missed by her many grandchildren: Timotheus Johnson, Egypt Johnson, Frank Johnson Jr., Jasmine Burns, Chantal (Antonio) Hill, Juan Johnson, Jasmine Finney, LaCorrie (Aubrey) Moore, Joshua (Helen) Avery, Jahkell Johnson, Jahquell Johnson, Alyia & Jamal Maghzaoui and Corey Boone Jr. 10 great-grandchildren ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Eunice’s love, faith, and compassion touched many lives, and her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
