Duane Lee Fletcher was born October 17, 1957 in Clarksville, Tennessee, to Herbert Lee Fletcher and Alma Lee Cooper. He transitioned from this earthly life on January 4, 2025. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister Cheryl Smily and a daughter Chaitay E. Brannon. Duane received his education in Clarksville public schools and is a graduate of Clarksville High School and Rutledge College, where he earned a degree in Medical Assisting. A little over 43 years ago, Duane met Dorothy Brannon, the love of his life and a loving, devoted companion.
Duane served in the United States Military. He joined the Navy on November 14, 1974 and served for three years. He worked for WIS inventory, construction, and was a maintenance tech a for the Columbia Housing Authority.
Duane enjoyed playing spades, chess, watching football, and listening to music. But he mostly enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
Duane leaves behind to cherish his memory; his loving mother: Mrs. Alma (Freeman) Cooper; daughters: Angela Brannon and Chiquita Brannon of SC; stepson: Donald Martin, NC; sisters: Laguiya Jordan, Debo Wakefield, Princess (Kenny)Edwards and Vickie Fletcher; brothers: Quintus Fletcher, Ortega Fletcher, Dyon Coffee, Gary Fletcher, Walter (Sandra) Thomas and Terry O’Neal.
