Detrise LaJuan Morthel

Ms. Detrise Lajuan Morthel was born November 18, 1959 in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Eddie Morthel and Sherley Searcy Morthel. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Alive hospice Residence in Nashville, Tennessee.

Detrise accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a gradate of McGavock High School and attended Fisk University and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Detrise was employed by various companies to include Nissan, Baptist Hospital now St. Thomas Mid-town and Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center.

In her spare time, she enjoyed singing, dancing, watching reality shows, movies and spending time with her family.

Detrise leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her memories her loving and devoted daughter, Nekita Morthel (Keith Johnson, father, Eddie (Robin) Morthel, grandchildren, Jayla Zontray, Keith and Jordyn, devoted friends, Gina Holden and LaShell Duncan.
