Demetria Ann Kelly

May 30, 1961 — May 31, 2023

Mrs. Demetria “Dee-Dee” Kelly was born May 30, 1961 to the late Mary Lizzie Perry McCuller and Frank Roach, Sr. in Newellton, Louisiana. We all love her, but God loved her best. God came and stood by her side and whispered to her “Well done thy good and faithful servant. Come unto me and rest, your heavenly rewards awaits…”. She accepted her Heavenly Wings on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at TriStar Skyline Medical Center.

On December 24, 1983, Dee Dee married the love of her life whom she loves to cherish, Franklin L. Kelly. They were truly blessed to celebrate 39 years of Marriage. To their union, they were blessed with two beautiful daughters whom she loves to cherish Amiee and Kamika Kelly. Dee Dee accepted Christ and baptized at the age of 6 years old and was a member of Myrtle Grove Missionary Baptist Church. When she resided to Nashville, Tennessee, she joined Boyd Street Missionary Baptist Church. But she also enjoyed visiting Jefferson Street Baptist Missionary Church where her children were active members.

After graduating at the age of 16 from Waterproof High School located in Waterproof, Louisiana, she moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to attend Commercial College where she received her Associate Degree in Business Management. She relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she worked at the US Census Bureau. In 1986, she and her family moved to Nashville, TN to joined her older sister. Even though her degree was in Business Management, she was employed at Meharry Medical College as a lab assistant in Pulmonary Medicine for several years. She also had a background in laboratory science. She later used those skills at Laboratory Corporation of America for number of years as a Wet Lab Technician. She enjoyed this position until her health started to fail.

If you knew Dee Dee, you would know she loves cooking, baking, entertaining, dancing, singing, shopping, talking on the phone, but most of all she loved her family. She was filled with so much love and laughter, touched the lives of many people, and never met a stranger in life.

Dee-Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lizzie Perry McCuller and Frank Roach Sr., brother Bobby L “Ozell” Conner, and grandson Marcus D. Jeanes Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Franklin Kelly of Nashville, Tennessee; two daughters Amiee and Kamika Kelly of Nashville, Tennessee; five sisters Dr. Joyce McCuller-Odu (Stephen) of Nashville, Tennessee, Brenda DeRouen (Felton) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Gloria Banks (Shedrick) of Forner, Texas, Edna M.
