Demarcus Elijah Holt-Crutchfield

DeMarcus Elijah Holt Crutchfield was born on March 21, 2014, in Nashville, TN. He is the first-born son of his parents, Unique Holt, and Deshawn Crutchfield. He was the impressive big brother of 9 children. On April 1, 2024, DeMarcus Elijah met his Savior whom he knew well. He was a young boy who understood his relationship with the Lord, he was a prayer warrior in his own right. His last prayer before school on Monday was a prayer of gratitude.

DeMarcus began learning as a young baby at Ms. Pauline Cooksey’s Home Daycare. He then attended Head Start where he flourished. Born Again Christian Academy was his next stop from Pre-K until 3^rd grade. He was currently attending Hickman Elementary. DeMarcus was a math whiz and an avid reader, many times reading two books before bed. 

DeMarcus had a pure passion for EVERYTHING cars! He and his father shared this love as well as revving up the engine as loud as possible. DeMarcus also shared his father’s love of ribs and sweet tea, even though DeMarcus started out not liking meat. He also enjoyed the occasional chili cheese dog and Oreo milkshake from Sonic or Cookout. DeMarcus especially loved his mother’s cooking, they shared a love for tacos, which led to their family Taco Tuesday’s.

His quirky sense of humor, his long conversations about the conditions of the world, his constant needling for candy will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He had recently told his Auntie Kitty Hockett he believed he was called to preach. At the last FIHI meeting he asked if he could speak, he told the women that they were beautiful queens, and that God was pleased with this gathering. 

To cherish and celebrate his memories and legacy of love and genius he leaves his parents, Unique Holt and Deshawn Crutchfield; great-great grandmother, Mamie Wilson; great grandmothers, Annie Wilson, Sandra Holt, great grandfather, Elijah Holt (Levora); grandparents, Kedi Wilson, Elisha Rogan (James, PopPop); loving aunts Racheal Holt, Brie and Karesha Crutchfield; uncles, Donovan and Brandon Holt, Armani Wilson, David Burrows; siblings Deion, Layla, Blu, Bellamy, and August Holt, Leah Cannon, Aubry and Imani Crutchfield.   A host of great uncles and aunts, God parents, relatives, and friends. Special uncle/guardian Elijah “DD” Holt, and beloved cousins, Denzel Holt, and Briley Hockett.
