Daryl James Hawkins was born on July 6, 2024 to the late James and Barbara Rucker Hawkins in Nashville, Tennessee. He departed this life on December 26, 2024.
Daryl was baptized at an early age at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and later became a member of First Baptist Church, Capitol Hill.
Daryl graduated from Maplewood High School where he played in the band and was an amazing trumpet player. He also attended Tennessee State University.
Daryl was an employee of Metro Government for over 35 years. He was a manager with the Public Works Department and was blessed to retire from Metro Government in 2021.
Daryl enjoyed his road trips to Tropicana in Evansville, IN. He also enjoyed watching football and basketball all weekend, especially his Tennessee Titans.
Daryl was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his brother Gregory Trent Hawkins, Sr.
Daryl leaves behind to cherish his memories children, Darius E. Bradley, Sr. and Miracle (Timothy) Lyons, sister, Lori Y. Hawkins, grandchildren, Darius E. Bradley, Jr., Dominique M. Bradley, Demetrius M. Bradley, Alicia Walker, Josiah Walker, Gavin Walker, Natalia Walker, D’Asia R. Bradley, Da’Kari A. Bradley, great granddaughter, Alani Turner, aunt, Kathryn Reed of Indianapolis, IN, nieces, Candice (Ralph) Stratton-Ward of Houston, TX, Chelsea Stratton of Los Angeles, CA, LaShandia Hawkins, Abigail Hawkins, Kylah Hawkins, nephews, Gregory Hawkins, Jr., Kenide Hawkins, Joshua Hawkins and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other devoted family and friends.
