CLOTELLE CORTNER JOHNSON WAS BORN IN NASHVILLE, TN ON SEPTEMBER 8,
1931, TO THE LATE MR. AND MRS. COLUMBUS AND ESSIE CORTNER. SHE
PEACEFULLY DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON OCTOBER 11, 2023 AT VANDERBILT
HOSPITAL.
CLOTELLE PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS; MR AND MRS. COLUMBUS
AND ESSIE CORTNER, HUSBAND; EWING JOHNSON SR., SON; EWING JOHNSON
JR., BROTHERS; ELIJAH AND COLUMBUS CORTNER, SISTERS; WILMA, RUBY
NATION, AND ANNIE RUTH CORTNER, GRANDCHILDREN; KIMLEY AND FRANK
JOHNSON, SON-IN-LAW; ROBERT NOWLIN.
CLOTELLE WAS INTRODUCED TO CHRIST AT AN EARLY AGE, SHE WAS BAPTIZED
AND ATTENDED BASS STREET MISSIONARY CHURCH UNDER THE LEADERSHIP
OF THE LATE REV. BURNS. SHE WAS MARRIED TO EWING JOHNSON, SR. IN THE
LATE 40S. EWING WAS A SOLDIER IN NAVY AND ARMY AND SERVED IN WW2
AND KOREAN WAR.
CLOTELLE RECEIVED HER EDUCATION FROM THE OLD CARTER-LAWRENCE
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. SHE WAS A HOUSEWIFE AND ENJOYED SPENDING TIME
WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW
AND LOVED HER. SHE ENJOYED COOKING, PLAYING CARDS, AND DANCING.
CLOTELLE LEAVES TO CHERISH HER MEMORY AND CONTINUE HER LEGACY HER
