Clarence Burns, Jr. was born May 23, 1960 in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of Clarence Ricardo Burns, Sr. and Myrtle Barclay. Mack McGee was an instrumental piece in raising Clarence. Clarence departed this earthly life on Friday, February 20, 2024 at The Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, Tennessee.
Clarence accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was united with Lee Chapel AME Church.
Clarence was educated in the Nashville Davidson County School System graduating from Pearl High. He continued his education by attending Tennessee State, Vanderbilt, and Fisk Universities. Clarence was employed by the government with Civil Service. He achieved the rank of GS-12 and worked in the healthcare field as a Surgical Assistant.
Clarence was married to Wanda Davis Lee, Rhonda (Granberry), and later to Debbie Turner.
Clarence was also employed as a 1st Surgical Assistant at a local hospital here in Nashville, Tennessee.
Clarence was musically inclined. He had a talent that was noticed by many greats in the musical field. He was an active member of the Band called “Tinted Glass” where he performed in numerous venues.
In his spare time Clarence enjoyed watching movies, grilling during the summer months and spending time with his children and family, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to celebrate his life and cherish his memories are his children, Clarence Burns, III, Akiela Burns, Logan Burns, Jalen Turner, grandchildren, Justice Green, Jamira Swinger, Ka’hon Burns, Aiden Burns.
