Clara Julien Nashville - Our beloved Clara Julien, born July 15, 1938, aged 81 passed away peacefully on October 9, 2019, after a very short-aggressive battle with Renal Cell Carcinoma. Clara passed at Alive Hospice care in North Nashville surrounded by her loved ones. Clara is the daughter of two proud farmers, Autantia Gustinvil and Ovilien Julien. She was born and raised in Verrettes, Artibonites, Haiti. As a kid Clara doted the nickname "Caw" by her siblings and was known as Caw by those she cherished throughout her life. More recently, she was known as Grann (grandmother) to her family and grandchildren. Clara worked as a rice farmer to sustain her life and provide for her five children. Throughout her life, Clara worked hard to purchase her own lands and overcame being a sharecropper. She is survived by three daughters Gisleine Julien-Luma and husband Enoc Luma, Altagrace Julien, Kerline Julien and husband Vital Petion; eight grandchildren Marie-Leda Ozil, Jean-Enold Luma and his wife Laquesha Jackson-Luma, Ertha E. Luma, Kernital Petion, Johnson Luma, Katiana Petion, Marie-Dieunie Desulme, Edwigson Petion; three great-grandchildren Darvens Louissain, Austin Luma, Ivy Luma as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other extended family members, and many dear friends. Clara was very warm, loving, positive, and selfless. She valued people and education and ensured her kids went to school. Her friends and family treasure her happy disposition and her vault of exciting stories. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 19 from 3pm-5pm at Terrell Broady Funeral Home, followed by a wake at Nashville Bordeaux Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 5121 Buena Vista Pike, Nashville TN 37218 from 6pm-8pm. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, October 20 at 2pm at the Terrell Broady Funeral Home located at 3855 Clarksville Pike. Clara's family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Alive Hospice care for the love and care they provided Clara during her last few days, the Madison Boulevard Seventh-Day Adventist church, Nashville Bordeaux Seventh-Day Adventist church, the Ambroise family, the Sila family, and the Haitian congregation at the Nashville First Church of the Nazarene.
