Clara Nell Guider

 Clara Nell Love was born November 23, 1952 in Memphis, TN. Clara was the second born child of Ella C. and Jimmie L. Love Sr. She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age with Church of The Living God Temple #217 under the leadership of Elder Lenzy Davis. Clara served as Church Clerk, President of the Youth Department, Teacher of Vacation Bible School, and a member of the Adult Choir. She truly loved the Lord.

Clara attended Gary Public Schools, and graduated from Emerson High School class of 1970. Where she served as part of the class reunion committee. She also received an Associate Degree in Mathematics from Indiana University Northwest.

She was United in Holy Matrimony to Willie J. Guider affectionally known as “Red” the Love of her life in 1972. They remained married for 48 years until his death, when you saw one you saw the other. From this union (1) son was born, Andre L. Guider.

Clara was employed by Bethlehem Steel, the Gary Community School District, Empress Casino, and later at Centier Bank for several years.

In 2007, Clara and Red relocated to Goodlettsville, TN. Upon moving they transferred their membership to Church of The Living God Temple #6 under the leadership of Pastor JamesTravis where she continued serving with the Youth Department, Women’s Department, and Adult Choir. She left us with her favorite quote, “You Got That Right”.

She was also currently an employee with Nashville State Community College as a tutor in Mathematics. Clara loved to bake. Her specialty was cakes, pies, her delicious ham, awesome potato salad, as well as shopping and gardening. She was an avid reader, a Mathematics Genius, never stopped learning and sharpening her skills, and was all about education. Clara truly loved her family and stayed connected daily. She was a people person who never met a stranger no matter where she went. Whether she was at the grocery store, work or beauty shop, everyone knew Nell.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Willie J. “Red” Guider, and only child Andre L. Guider. Parents Jimmie L. Sr. and Ella C. Love. Grandmothers Bessie Lee Hull and Addie Mae Gibbs. Grandfathers Odell Holmes, Eddie L. Love Sr, and Walter Hull Sr. Siblings; Marilyn A. Scott (Sister), Darlene L. Love (Sister), and Lawrence Davis (Brother). Mother-In-Law Sarah Wilson, Father-In-Law Port Wilson, Brother In-Laws Floyd Wilson, B. W. Guider and Sister-In-Law, Ann.

Nell is survived by Brothers; Willie B. Tribble Memphis, TN. Elder Jimmy L. Love Jr, (Jeanette) Lafayette, IN. Ricky J. Love (Deborah) Bedford, IN. Kevin A. Love (Chandra) Logansville, GA. Sisters; Bobbie J. Sease (Herman), Bessie M. (Love) Watkins of Merrillville, IN. Sister-In-Laws; Vera Williams Minneapolis, MN. Shirley Host (Lonnie), Elaine Rivera and Beverly Guider. Brother-In-Laws; Jerry Guider, Howard Wilson (Marjorie) all of Gary, IN. Loving Daughter-In-Love Tarchawana Guider, four grandchildren, Andre, Haley, Baylee, and Madason. Three Great-Grandchildren Carter, Carson and Amare, all of Nashville, TN. (3) Aunts, (1) Uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.
