Charlie Richard Johnson

Mr. Charlie Richard Johnson was born February 27, 1958 to the late James Bell Johnson and Myrtle B. Ford Johnson.  He departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Charlie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.  He was united with Hamilton Tabernacle P.B. Church where he maintained his membership.

Charlie received his education in Nashville Davidson County Schools, graduating from Pearl High School.

Charlie enlisted in the United States Army on February 27, 1978, serving his country proudly. He received an honorable discharge for his active service.

Charlie returned home in September of 1992.  After his return home, he was employed by the United States Dept. of Veterans Affairs for a number of years and later was blessed to retire from the US Postal Service.

In his spare time; Charlie enjoyed football and was a avid fan of the Tennessee Titans. He also loved fishing this was his time of relaxation.

 In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Preston W. Johnson and Victor M. Johnson.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sons, Tyrone Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Le Nories Johnson, loving and devoted siblings, Ms. Verna M. Graves Johnson, Ms. Donna F. Perry, James Bell Johnson, Jr., Darryle L. Johnson, David (Joy) Johnson, sister-in-law, Marteen Johnson, mother of children, LaShonda Johnson, devoted nieces, Tamara Graves, Tamika Perry, devoted nephew, John A. Perry, grandchildren, Antautica Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Savannah Taylor, Lela Johnson, Levi Johnson and great-granddaughter, Azariyah devoted friends, Thomas Jones, Nathaniel (Sharon) Armstrong, Kelly Miller, Antonio Miller, a host of other relatives and friends.
