CASSANDRA G. JOHNSON was born November 11, 1965 to Katie Johnson and Johnny McClain. She was the fourth child of 4 girls, and although she was the baby of the bunch, many often thought her to be the oldest due to her “take charge” disposition. She was a leader and one that cared for the well-being of others. Cassandra went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
CASSANDRA professed her faith in Christ and was baptized at Evans Hill Missionary Baptist Church Under the Pastorship of Pastor John P. West. She later united with Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorship of Pastor Breonus Mitchell, where she remained until her passing.
CASSANDRA attended Metro Davidson County Schools, graduated in 1985 and received her high school diploma from East Nashville High School, Go Mighty Eagles!
CASSANDRA was a dependable and dedicated employee for the Tennessee Department of Safety for 25 years where she remained til her passing.
CASSANDRA met the LOVE OF HER LIFE, MR. STANLEY MADDIX (deceased) affectionally known as “STAN THE MAN” Ohhhhhh STAN, HE IS THE MAN is the song that was so proudly sang around the house. And as the ole saying goes, and the rest is history. Together at last! To know her was to LOVE her, and if you knew her, then you know that EVERYBODY had a nickname. She was truly one of a kind! She was Sassy, Feisty, and Fierce, with a heart of LOVE, always willing to help others. Spending time with family and friends was her hearts delight. From singing (“can ya woo woo woo”) while cooking good soul food dinners, to taking the lil people skating, shopping (Ms.JCPenny) , she wore many hats, and of all the hats she wore, being a MOTHER to her 3 children, Cedrick, Daneisha ,and Tasha was her GREATEST joy!
